      Description

      paraphrased from email

Business objective is that each analyst should be able to
download list of AR + Client Ref so that they can create their instrument batch

That defines (and duplicates) a Worksheet

Bika Worksheet. WS. A collection of analyses grouped together to be executed at the same work station, on the same instrument or by the same analyst

We are currently building Invoices per Batch as well, and Worksheets per Batch is more what you are looking for, and the logical way to go about it.

A pity UW did not complete these two, just bullet points now:

and going with it for consistency's sake,

This will be the logical way to achieve your objective. Senaite will clear all performance problems you have now.

Eventually we will try to marry this list to batch.

      See above, great minds

Current batch is designed per customer which is irrelevant.
Currently what needs to be analyzed is communicated manually
for R&D samples which can continue until we build it.

Still in the WS spec. WSs can be printed already and used by Analysts in that way.

The Worksheet List and Creation engines are cloned inside a Batch, limiting WS population with Analyses from inside the Batch only

and going with it for consistency's sake,

Complimentary to UW-151, we simply add a Batch ID to the search parameters at WS Creation

The WS can be laid out in rows or coilumns per Sample/AR and printed both ways

You could also have a WS export template customised to populate the sheets to be eventually imported

Not sure in which state Bika Cannabis' WS print templates are, screenshot is prototype for Bika Water

The Batch Book also offers a glimpse of how the data can be displayed and exported per Batch

Batch Invoice any day now soon, Worksheets?

Mike and I looked at the batch book. it is mostly there where it can be functional. We discussed what needs to be done to polish it up. I guess:
          1. If we can group columns by Category
          2. Add a button to download a list of selected AR IDs and Client Ref csv for making Instrument batch
          3. After submit, (To be verified and Verified) results to show first reporting unit
          4. Allow (if not already) to have multiple client's ARs in the same batch

          What do you think?

Worksheets are what you want, points 1 - 4. I 'll test it today. The batch book will be very nice to fix up, up that could take many days. Not recommended now

My answer sentence wise, not sure what you mean by worksheet what I want. Worksheets in present form are not practical. Batch was rejected by all because it was restricted to a client. It can work even if batch ID can be same but allows analysts to pick what they need to work on their day and select and make their own "batch" for their instrument. Batch-Book is amazing, fast and provides a lot of things to all listed below if it can be not restrictive per client.
Analysts: Can see what profile is per AR, and they know if it is to be included in their list (their own instrument batch) or not,
Verifiers and Managers: While it is cumbersome and completely disorganized still they can see what's in, pending. They can bulk verify (it submits to async) right from here.

We need to know why please. Please list them. I am not sure you understand,
I'll prepare a screen sharing session to show.

Batch was rejected by all because it was restricted to a client.

It thought that was added for the lab as they work in Client batches. In standard Bika it wasn't, it was always intended for Project or experiment batching of Sample from multiple Clients, especially in research labs

Exactly what WS's do, group Analyses per specialist Analyses and Instrument workbench

Take it from me please, it is not the answer, it was designed for reviews. No QC, exports etc.

And NB, buggy. It did not receive any attention for a long time

With WS filters, they don't even have to look. Analysts include their Tests/Analyses not ARS

Verification shouold be done in context of QC and peer Samples and Duplicates. On WSs

Stand by for screen shots - I'll want you to test that with Cannabis data

Batch and Worksheet integration was also well under way in the UW code, very handy indeed

          They call their batches Worksheets
