      Description

All of the reference definitions are uploaded but I can not assign them to a worksheet.

After some trial and error I figured out that you need to add reference definitions via suppliers and they will be available to add them as a control reference or blank reference.

Step 1 Head to setup/suppliers/ and choose supplier and click add

Step 2 Complete the form fields and save

Step 3 Head to reference samples to confirm that the reference definition has been added

Reference sample is now available in worksheets

        Neat, thank you Francois.

The confusion originates from the Reference Definition and Reference Sample differentiation

Reference Samples are the ones actually used as QC controls, and against which QC results are graphed, and they are normally acquired from a Supplier - if you use a lot of inhouse reference stocks, you need o capture 'Inhouse' as a supplier too.

In some cases fresh Reference Samples are used daily, weekly and to speed their creation up, Reference Definitions can be created and used as templates when creating reference Samples.

When Worksheet Templates are used to create Worksheets, the Reference Definition is used to find any valid (mot expired) Reference Sample in stock befitting that definition, Ditto when Reference Samples are manually entered. In the latter case the user has the oiption to select which Ref Sample is used if there are more than one found
